What impact the school has seen on pupils’ PE and sport participation?

All children complete 2 hours of high quality PE each week with a dedicated PE teacher and Sports apprentice. All children complete the Daily mile each day. Attendance at clubs is at 65% (up from 50% last year) and 10 children have joined Porthtowan Surf Life Saving Club due to thier involvement in surf lessons at school.

What impact the school has seen on pupils’attainment?

In 2018/19 the school was in line or above in all statutory attainment measures. The PE premium was used to ensure children at Penponds are fit, active and can make healthy choices as independent learners.

How the improvements will be sustainable in the future?

 

·         How many pupils within their year 6 cohort can do each of the following:

·         Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres:  100%

·         Use a range of strokes effectively: 85.7%

·         Perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations: 85.7%
