Aspiration Day 2023

We had a fantastic Aspiration Day in school on Friday! The children looked fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed researching into their future selves.

Thank you to Tregonning children for taking the photographs of all of the children and brilliantly using their computing skills to superimpose suitable backgrounds into the snapshots. They composed the photograph, added the backgrounds, printed the photographs and laminated them under supervision. All children in the school will come home this week with their photograph.

Thank you so much to our wonderful volunteers who made the day a huge success. Check out of Facebook page for lots more photos.

We have welcomed our class pet Ernie back into class today. We have spoken about what we need to do to care for him and how to keep him ( and us) safe and healthy. Ernie loves to eat salad and vegetable off cuts, so if you have any, your child is welcome to bring them in to feed him. His favourite food is dandelion leaves and flowers.

Thank you to all of our real life super heroes for visiting us this term!
Vets, Police, Firefighters - we are so lucky!
November
Today we have 2 minutes silence to think about our experiences of loss. We discussed afterwards what it must feel like to live during a war and how sad it would be. We watched this clip to help us to make sense of it all.

The children have been learning all about hibernation and helping Ernie prepare for hibernation. He has been very slow and sleepy for a few weeks and the children are going to say goodbye till the spring tomorrow. They will miss having him in the classroom as he is going home with Miss Berry to get some peace and quiet while he has a long sleep. The children have prepared a lovely box for him to sleep in until the weather warms up again.

Have a look through his photographs that his family have kindly shared with us.
