Aspiration Day 2023

We had a fantastic Aspiration Day in school on Friday! The children looked fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed researching into their future selves.

Thank you to Tregonning children for taking the photographs of all of the children and brilliantly using their computing skills to superimpose suitable backgrounds into the snapshots. They composed the photograph, added the backgrounds, printed the photographs and laminated them under supervision. All children in the school will come home this week with their photograph.

Thank you so much to our wonderful volunteers who made the day a huge success. Check out of Facebook page for lots more photos.

September 2023
On Wednesday, Godolphin visited the National Maritime Museum to launch their Voyage of the Mystery topic. We learnt about the true story of seven Cornish fishermen who sailed a tiny fishing boat on an incredible voyage from Newlyn to Australia. We explored the story through film, storytelling and object investigation. We even got to create our own 'Mystery' to sail across the museum's boat pool. Towards the end of the day we had some time to explore everything else that the museum had to offer, it was a great day!

In Maths, Year 1 have been working on adding and subtracting by counting on and counting back. We've been adding and removing cubes from bags to practice this!
October
We’ve been working in year 1/year 2 pairs to compare past and present ways of travelling. We’ve decided it would be much safer and comfier to travel to Australia on a plane rather than the Mystery!
November - Children in Need
Look at our wonderful Pudsey, SPOTacular and colourful outfits for Children in Need. We learnt all about this fantastic charity and how they support Children's Rights.
December
In Godolphin we took part in 'Bookvent' throughout December. We invited every child to bring one book into school. This could have been, their favourite book, just a book they enjoy or a Christmas book. Books could be fiction or non fiction. We wrapped up the books in school and then every day we chose 2-3 books  to unwrap and share.
The children loved it!
